Title: “Schneid” (Moussa Clarke Remix)

Bernd Kuchinke is a legend in Germany, a regular DJ on the club scene for more than 25 years. Here he waxes lyrical in his native German about the younger generation coming onto the scene - "been there, done that, losing my edge" ("Schneid"). Originally released back in 2006 on Bikini Records vinyl, this is getting a timely digital re-release on Russia's forward-thinking Ulysse label, complete with the remix I did for Bernd back then. It's still sounding fresh - this is a shuffling atmospheric indie-flecked house number with a memorable piano line and subtle old-school electronic touches that work very well on the floor... Instrumental included for those of you who don't do vocals.

“I'm not so keen on the vocal so the instrumental was more my thing!”
Marc Atkins (GB)
“This one's right up my street. Guitar bassline is perfect: colourful and rich in melody. The vocal, even though I have no real idea what is being said, has an exotic sense to it (as it's foreign) and the manner of the vocal seems to fit with an archetypical precision-orientated German... The complimentary keys, synths and pads enhance the track and the acid line that runs through the song in parts is awesome... Only criticism I'd have is that maybe the shuffling nature of the beats makes them overcomplicated and somehow not blend with the other elements of the track.”
Wez G (GB)
