Live On Mars is the new label project from reknowned Russian producer Artem Harchenko, known for his work under the aliases R-Tem and Kooqla on seminal labels such as Lost Language, Armada, Oven Ready and more, and also as a former Prime Minister of the infamous hedonistic summer Republic of Kazantip.
For the debut release, he dons his latest production pseudonym Tyoma, showcasing a mature electronica sound, a rush of cinematic washes and melancholy chords melding with thundering breakbeats. The aptly named Marsbeing is on remix duty, cooking up a slice of perfectly produced deep progressive electronica, minimal beats and big analogue synths.
Selected feedback
With a classic breakbeat house feel, the lushly layered original tune is great for headphone listening as well as on a huge soundsystem at late peaktime. Marsbeing chills things down a bit, and abstracts the number slightly dubwise. One for around sunrise! 8/10
